Craig David Laliberte, 54, of Southbridge, Massachusetts, was behind the wheel when his Ford F-350 veered off Route 198 in Woodstock, Windham County, just after 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, state police said.

The truck was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene.

The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified Laliberte after an autopsy, and police contacted his next of kin.

It is unclear what caused Laliberte's truck to leave the road and hit the utility pole, but the crash remains under investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Connecticut state trooper Matthew Siart at 860-779-4900 or matthew.siart@ct.gov.
